Copyright Question

Hey,

Haven't been on for a while now, and I just got back in to RMXP. I have a couple copyright questions. You can't use ANY of the base sprites, tilesets, etc. if you want to distribute your game right? Also, I guess this part of my topic should be in resources, but if I am correct about the last question, where can I find decent... anything really. It would be helpful is someone could clear this up for me.

Thanks,

Anaka

As long as you paid for RMXP, you are allowed to use the RTP resources with any game you produced with RMXP. I'm not sure if you are allowed to redistribute the RTP or if you need to direct users to download it from Enterbrain's website.

You mean the RTP tilesets, sprites and music?

I think you are allowed to place them in your game without any copyright issues, and without the need to credit Enterbrain. When you buy RMXP, I'm fairly sure you're also purchasing the RTP stuff aswell.

Means, feel free to use and franken sprite the RTP stuff as you like Smile

I'm guessing the hardest part would be getting soundtrack accepted.

let's face it RTP's soundtrack sucks. so getting good soundtrack is an issue

I think the copyright owner has the rights to distribute their product in your case the game(if you are the owner). For more knowledge visit this website.
