Why are you here?

Are you here to join the community, or are you advertising something you created? Which role you decide to play determines some basic permissions:

Immigrant

You're here to join the community. You'll have more access to community functions like Groups and blogging, but won't be able to post information about your project or ask for resources.

Traveling Merchant

You're here to advertise something you created. You'll be able to post information about your project and be able to upload large files, but otherwise you are somewhat disconnected from the community.

Keep in mind that these roles are not permanent. After you've been here long enough to accrue 25 Whuffie, you'll automatically be promoted to a Townie, who has all of these rights and more, including:

• Full access to the main discussion forum
• Ability to participate in local affairs, like news and petitions
• Ability to send and receive private messages with other Townies
