RPG Maker VX is the succesor to the first internationally succesful RPG Maker. Taking an interesting step, Enterbrain have seen to take the RPG Maker series back to its core roots, with a Maker that some say is more RPG Maker 95 than RPG Maker XP. Face Graphics, the bane of every RMXP scripter's life, are back in the event editor. The default graphics return to their roots and away from the orgasm of colour of RMXP, as well as coming with a world map set to reflect Enterbrain's new stance on overworlds. But what RMVX has rolled-back, it has built on the strong base RMXP built. A beginner's mode has been added, likely a response to the claims that RMXP was not beginner-friendly, which allows easy creation of treasure chests, doors and ilk. The draw rate has been improved to reflect modern technology, with a much smoother and expressive 60 frames per second being used, over the 30 in RMXP. |
