Legion Saga Series

I'm not going to lie, I have no Idea where to find this game. I don't know where I should post this, but since it was someone's project, I'll post it here.

I am looking for the first three Legion Saga games.

I have scoured the internet and still have found nothing. Does anyone here have it?

It was a lot of fun, but to be honest, I don't remember anything other than the fact that I loved it.

Can anyone help me with my problem?

Found them in probably the least likely place but oh well. (Read: Palace)

Looking at these brings back so many memories. :')

LS1 and 2 are now hosted on the RPG Palace. Not sure why 3 isn't.

Randomly, I was one of the beta testers for LS3... yet didn't join the palace until AFTER Kamau was gone from it... Undecided

I... lost the beta when I switched computers though, so don't ask me what the changes were, or if you can play it.

No, nor Curse of Silence, the spin-off.

I'm sure I have Legion Saga 3, but I believe it's on a disc at home =/. Might download Legion Saga I and II again though, haven't played them for years!

I also have Faerie Child on a disc at home =). Completed it too, I believe. Twice!

Is the Legion Saga R on the site the unfinished one, the version he posted right before he left and shutdown the site? And wow I never knew Kamau founded Rpg Palace, I knew there was like an old forum at your old site for the series but wow. I can still remember the old site, had Gaia''s Destiny on it, and all these cool games, where did all those games go?

Oh and like a lot of the screens in the game profiles and shit are all out of place and just generally mixed up. And if any of you guys still has Gaia's Destiny A New Threat, then please pm me because I miss that misguided game. .. I love my new Avatar :lol3:

Hahaha! Y'know, I used to live just around the corner from the guy who created that game. I remember going over his house that Summer and him telling me how great it was going to be. Of course he only showed me the odd cutscene, not the entire game, which turned out to be little more than an hour long.

I do miss the Golden Age, though; when games like Legion Saga were the cream of the crop. Simple, low-concept games that you could floor in an afternoon. Demon Legacy will probably be the last release of that era. Especially given the popularity of XP.

I've been working at producing an LS-style game for a while. But every time I go for it I get ambitious and it slips through my fingers.

have any of thought of remaking the legion saga series if you had the story line to them

If anyone did that, chances are it would suck and basically stealing every idea Kamau came up with. It is doable but wrong in general. Also, if he copyrighted the material he used and made himself, illegal as well. =)

I don't think Kamau owns the rights to Suikoden.

Well, to finish Legion Saga R, someone would need Kamau's permission. That wouldn't be too much trouble, I imagine. I doubt Kamau is still interested in the Legion Saga series so anyone may get his blessing.

The issue that negates the possibly of a remake stems from the fact that Legion Saga R was a lot better than the original. After 3 complete games, Kamau's abilities with RPG Maker were dramatically improved and he was able to produce a highly competent remake. For someone to finish Legion Saga R their ability would need to match Kamau's level of ability when he finished, otherwise the remake would be no better than the original and therefore pointless.

So here's the problem: if you're good enough and experienced enough to remake Legion Saga 1, why would you? Legion Saga was very heavily inspired by Suikoden, so much so that it was accused of being a rip-off by many who played it, hence the joke in my last point. In essense, Legion Saga was a poor remake of Suikoden, so Legion Saga R would be the remake of a poor remake of Suikoden. Aside from that, the plot and characters were nothing beyond ordinary. What exactly would you be remaking? No-one other than Kamau could seriously be interested in remaking it.

Kamau deserves plenty of praise for the Legion Saga series in my opinion, despite me criticising it occasionally. He created 3 games that were immensely popular back in the early days of RM when there was little else. They were enjoyable if not original. The truth is that the community has moved on and expects a lot more from its projects. I can't imagine Legion Saga R invoking more than nostalgia, certainly not plaudits or new fans.

It wouldn't matter anyway whether the person who wants to remake Legion Saga R tried to do it. The first three legion saga series as well as Legion Saga R were all released by Kamau and ust wouldn't feel the same if released by another person no matter how good the person made it.

Try out the Demon Destiny 1 demo

I decided to download and play Legion Saga today. Nice bit of work here. But I can't figure out where to go once I get Pasz...the mountain's "too dangerous" and the checkpoint east of Dabb (or whatever) is "road closed"...

I don't know that this game really needs a remake, though. What would it be, custom graphics and improved systems? Would the player move faster? His speed annoys me. Would the battles be more interesting? Not sure that it's necessary, given that it's all amateur fun anyway.

EDIT: Fine, I've played Legion Saga R and it looks much better, plays better, and Durane moves at an acceptable speed. But it reminds me of South Park, you know? That one episode about Hollywood movie producers remaking their movies to be more modern, with the Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc...
