I believe the Dream Devourer is also the end-boss of the new dungeon. I'm sure that you can find videos of that dungeon and said boss/ending on Youtube now.

I suppose.

I feel like building some more of my castle in Minecraft while listening to some music... and perhaps finding a game to play on my Playstation 2. Any suggestions on an RPG? I have many on the PS2, so there is a good chance that I have whatever game you mention, although I am still missing many PS2 games for my collection.

I believe there was, symphonia, abyss, eternia... etc..

Possibly, Symphonia is for the Game Cube and Eternia was not released in North America (because He Man and the Masters of the Universe had copyrights to 'Eternia', which is He Man's homeworld), it is called Tales of Destiny 2 and is on the Playstation 1. I do have Abyss, although I am watching a playthrough of it at the moment.

I did begin Grandia 2 on the PS2 (I would like to also get it for the Dreamcast), and have played about a half hour into it.

I played through half of Illusion of Gaia today. I remember someone saying they had trouble with the vampires; while it is somewhat tedious to get Freedan for the boss fight (because you basically have to do half the dungeon over again, minus monsters), it's worth it. The key to that fight, besides having Freedan, is to just throw yourself right in front of them. Assuming you've gotten all the power-ups so far, you have the stats to go right up in front of them and take the damage. They'll go down before you do if you keep slashing your sword. It doesn't even matter that you have to do this twice.

I think this method might be a little counter-intuitive, because the dungeon before (Mu) has such tough enemies that it you have to play carefully for the first time in the game. Then for its boss fight, you have to be reckless!

I remember Mu, it was a little tedious to keep moving all over, and I remember those strange bubbles that would bounce you back, annoying.

Mu is the fabled 'land before time existed' I believe, a land of civilization and technology before man had evolved.

There are a couple things I should perhaps document for my own sake as much as anybody else's:

At the Nazca Lines, you move forward when you see a member of the Moon Tribe in the southwest corner.

In Watermia, check your inventory when Lance leaves. There's nothing else you're looking for. After coming back from the Great Wall, there's nothing you have to do before going on the lotus east of the gambling house. Try moving north on it to get it going.

Team Fortress 2 has drastically changed from its humble beginnings. Many of the decent players who had begun playing when it was released no longer play, but if you've yet to have played it, then I would still suggest that you try it out; there is much to learn and experience still.

Apparently there are 32 inch flat screen HD televisions that you can plug your computer into for 300$ at the Costco near my place, I wish to buy one. Very much so.

Screw Costco, I got a dang awesome 32" screen for about $350 at Best Buy. It was a Toshiba, and it's got the screen quality comparable to screens that cost $100 more. If you want a big screen to make it look nicer, you should get something that makes it look nicer rather than something that makes it look washed out and tinted.

We have no Best Buys here. My brother is getting the one I mentioned, and he knows very much about computer screens and televisions so I trust his judgment. I was actually going to get a smaller television but since it's so cheap compared to Future Shop and other places, I shall be obtaining one from there.

Also 3:14 : "Hey Kefka, what does the Scan spell say about his level?" "IT'S OVER 9000!" "WHAT? 9000? THERE'S NO WAY THAT CAN BE RIGHT! CAN IT?"

I might be getting a PSP in April or May, I shall see how the renovations are coming along by then.

Dissidia is a definite purchase for me as soon as I get one. As well as Duodecim. I shall be obtaining Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together for the SNES, as a translated physical copy, for 70$. When I buy the other games on that site's qish list I've made that is. I would like to go through the NES games first.

And yes, that Kefka is quite the riot. I enjoyed when he was on stage with the Pokemon Trainers. If I could summon Ifrit in a Pokemon battle, it would definitely change things.

Hopefully I have not slain the thread; it was one of my favorites.

Two things this week:

1. I have bought Chaos Legion for the Playstation 2; very hard to find game, and I managed to find a copy at my favorite awn shop for 6.75$. I was amazingly lucky.

2. I began playing Oblivion again, and my character is actually level 22, not 27 as I thought. It had been a while since I had played. I have almost a complete set of Daedric armor, but am waiting until I achieve Master Heavy Armor before I wear it, since Master Heavy Armor grants you the ability to make all Heavy Armor pieces you are currently equipped with weigh absolutely nothing, meaning that you can carry a lot more (since my armor at the moment is what's taking up most of my allowed carrying weight, even though I can carry a lot due to a powerful Ring of Feather).

Right now my armor is comprised of the Champion of the Nine set, obtained through the Pilgrimage Of The Nine quest, a fairly long quest with an amazing climax and a stupendous reward.

right now on disgaea 2 I had a lv. 20 prinny called [sinful sesilou]

then I reincarnated him into a cpt. prinny, now lv 16.

also changed his stats from "average' to distinguished, soon to be followed by "genius"

once I manage to get around 3600 mana

I finished Illusion of Gaia and have started playing Earthbound. I've decided that the best way to play Earthbound is to fight enemies proactively instead of trying to run from them. It's a game where power leveling really does wonders.

one of the things I really loved about Earthbound was the "auto-winning"

when your player is a beefcake, and you find a weak enemy sometimes

you defeat it just by entering the battle. you hear a flash, you auto win the fight

and keep the EXP neat huh XD

I adored Earthbound, and actually had a chance to buy the cartridge, but the manual was a black and white photocopied walkthrough, in bad shape at that. I would much rather get the complete copy.

Earthbound 2 (Mother 3) was quite good as well, but was definitely a more serious game in a sense.

I may either play Disgeaia or continue playing Grandia 2. I actually own Grandia 1, 2, and 3, but Grandia 1 doesn't have a real case for it, simply an empty double disc PS1 case that I gutted to accomodate the game. I do have the cover and back of the box on my computer, but I simply need to find the proper printing paper to get it printed on so that I can do it right.

Whyt system?

Final Fantasy 4 (2) is my favorite of the series. The music and battles were some of the best in my opinion.

I've begun playing Disgeaia, and am an hour and a half in. I have my Prinny trio, my two main characters, and a Cleric. One of my Prinnies has an outstanding name; Dynamo. I'd like to name my other two with similar great names, but cannot for the life of me think of any names that inspire a feeling of boundless energy such as Dynamo. Any ideas?

Oh um.... I never really used Whyt, heh. But I drew him this sweet face, a sunset with stars and a moon.

Final Fantasy 4 (2) was pretty sweet, wasn't it? The battle with Valvalis/Barbariccia, Dr. Lugae, Edge's parents, Demon Wall, the Dark Elf, all that sh*t.

Don't have any ideas for Prinny names >.< YET. YET.

Disgaea gives me a funny feeling of nostalgia. It's one of those games I wanted to find then immediately found second-hand, very luckily. I got it when I graduated high school and couldn't find a job to save my life (a recurring theme -- until now! will possibly explain in other thread). Between that and living with my parents I got pretty depressed and anti-social so I just stayed home and obsessively played it all day. ... I'm not usually that big of a gamer, just when I'm depressed Confused But whenever I see/hear about that game, it reminds me of that time of my life. And whenever I hear about someone's son or boyfriend who obsessively plays games all day, I feel bad for them.

Final Fantasy 6(3) is my second favorite, Kefka, Leo, Shadow, Cyan, and Sabin were my absolute favorite characters. I still remember one of shadow's best lines in the beginning of the game:

"Leave us, the dog eats strangers."

As for Disgeaia, the entirety of the game has kept me away from truly playing it for a while now, mainly because of how much is packed into that disc; the enormous level limit, the exorbitant stats, so many things that can be upgraded (Levels, Ranks, Item Levels, Weapon Skills, Skill themselves, the list goes one...), and such a game keeps me from playing it fully because of my penchant as a completionist.

I've decided to simply make a team that suits me, or if I have no limit (or a very high limit) of how many characters I can create, simply have one of each class, though I would be more selective of the monsters.

Currently I have Laharle, Etnia (or whatever her name is, she's over-all a forgettable character), the Prinny Trio (Dynamo, Rondo, and Malcom... the last two of which I would like to grant better names) who I might say, are tearing up the battlefield quite well; they make a terrific team (Dood!), and lastly a male warrior and female cleric. I currently see no point in having any more characters, until I require more personel on the battlefield. I believe 10 is the maximum at the same time?

Seeing as how most of you have played this game extensively, I would greatly appreciate some tips and tricks as to how to train my troops right; the Item World and the character ranks/creation/etc. confuse me to no end, although I have only been playing for under three hours so far.

I will eventually look at in-depth faqs to the classes and how to level them up to unlock other classes, but for now I would simply like to play on my own terms, but would appreciate any help you would like to impart onto me.

And as for the Prinnies' names, perhaps something with more robust (something that gives them a sense of flair?) would be best. What they lack in abilities, they shall make up for in flashiness!

well I've played Disgaea 2 but D1 in ways seems the same except for maps.

rule #1 if you're lv 19 or lower..... AVOID the item world.

not because it's a random world. but you gotta make sure your party can withstand

at least 10 straight fights. having a unit with high movement is good too,

well... actually I've bareley played disgaea 1 so I'm not that useful (sorry T_T)

but I can help on D2. (Currently playing it)

well another thing I heard was that prinnies have the best stat growth,

so grinding a prinny up then reincarnating into the desired unit gives good

results (my prinny S.S will eventually be a "genius" Iron Knight with tons of ATK DEF

Reincarnating? How do you reincarnate a character? Do they have to reach level 999?

(in D2) when your player has enough mana, in the dark assembly you can select

"reincarnation" which brings your player down to lv 1 again as another unit of

your choice, but base stats your other unit carry over

well this was in D2 but this should also happen in D1 as this is a basic of

power-leveling a unit.

P.S: the max level you can get to is 9999. you can reincarnate at any level

I suggest you reincarnate your character after an upgrade is available

say my prinny is only a pvt.prinny, when cpt.prinny is available. now would be

a good time for reincarnation. something I do is take note of the level you are when the

unit gets unlocked. in D2 a cpt.prinny is available at lv 15 so what I did was reincarnate

at lv 20-22 ish. now my prinny is lv 16 again but hits like a non-reinc lv 26 prinny

Playing: Digimon World DS Laugh

It's actually really fun, I didn't think it would be, since I barely know what digimon is, but it's got a cool little digifarm, and different digivolutions depending on what type of experience points you've got ( kill bird enemies, you get bird experience, kill insects, insect experience), but to level up, you can use any type of experience, it's only there for certain evolutions. Ah, that clears things up. And level 9999 in definitely quite a long ways away, I need to grind my main units up to level 10 before continuing the second chapter, I did unlock Scout, Rogue, and Archer classes, and unlocked the second Brawler and Warrior classes.

I think Nitro might be a good name for one of the Prinnies that I have in my army.

Digimon Worlds for the PS2 is on my list of games to buy, I've heard many good things about it, I might add the DS version to that list as well.
