What game are you currently playing?
Have you caught any legendaries yet? since you have emerald you will get Kyogre and Groundon.
^ Don't forget Rayquaza. (despite being catchable in all series 3 pokemon games...)
I've been playing a wide range of games recently myself. I'm trying to create a 3d game now because I have the ability to make 3d graphics and the such...now I just need to cover the programming aspects. (Haven't done any high-level programming in months...yayz...)
My deadly list...
- Pokemon White (Japanese language, I sadly cannot understand it, but I love the new battle system. )
- Dungeons and Dragons Online (Human level 7 fighter ftw? Certainly much more special attacks than a lvl 8 fighter warforged.)
- Combat Arms (I still hunger for a headshot every now and then.)
- A.V.A. (If I cannot enjoy headshots out of combat arms, I come here for hopes of fufilling it.)
- Genesis A.D. (A new game from ijji. This game is awesome. Sadly, snipers are neglected here a lot, mostly because of everyone's jetpacks. Makes you too quick to snipe.)
- Call of Duty Black Ops (Seen the new dolphin dive? Hilarious to do at the beginning of a search and destroy mission. Everyone dives for the bomb.)
- Fallout New Vegas (Yargh. At least it's fun like fallout 3. But there's not much things different about this game from fallout 3....)
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Yeah. I STILL PLAYZ IT.)
I still have yet to obtain a life. That's number one on my wishlist for the holidays. It's also the only thing on my wishlist too. Oh the irony...
I've never beaten a Pokemon Game, I only played roughly a half hour of Pokemon Yellow and I might have beaten two gym leaders in Pearl, but I am in no way a die-hard player of the games, I merely enjoy the mindlessness the Pokemon style RPG.
Playing: Golden Sun 1 & 2 (the lost age)
I am actually really enjoying, though some parts are really mindless ("I don't know if what they said are true, hey I know! We'll go to the top of the sacred mountain we're not allowed on to see if they're telling the truth! " And I'm sitting there screaming at the screen "NO! DON' T DO IT YOU'LL GET KIDNAPPED!!!! " but they do it anyway )
at least it's got a fun little battlesystem thingy, thanks asth!
I've recently started to play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but mostly Majora's Mask. I love these two games. Oh, I'm also playing Mario: Legend of the seven stars and Pokemon Gold.
I've played (and beaten) both golden suns (and anxiously waiting or Dark Dawn) I hope later
on you can get to beat up Alex or the wise one.
as for pokemon.... I've only played 1. pokemon blue and yes I did beat it but I never caught that
growlithe I always wanted.... so I went and kicked everyone's ass with my lv 100 ninetales XD
OH and I decided not to play it anymore, why? because ash is a RETARD.
(Seriously. 10 frikin' seasons and he still falls for team rocket's obvious repetitive traps)
No problem Karl. The story gets better later on, I enjoyed all the ancient ruins and whatnot, it is something that I love seeing in Role Playing Games.
I believe I have a Gamecube disc which is Ocarina of Time.
My favorite pokemon shall forever be Nidoking. My favorite team consists of a Nidoking, a Gyarados, a Charizard (Or other power-house Fire type), and whatever else I can find handy. This is of course speaking of the original 150 Pokemon, not the ones afterwards.
My favourite pokemon is and will always be farfetch'd. I have no idea why though, because it's one of the weakest, and not very useful
Nidoking has the potential - if raised properly - to be an amazing pokemon; its multi-hit attacks, one-hit kill attacks, and powerful physical attacks, as well as its Focus Energy (which increases its critical hit chance by double I believe) added to things like its five-hit-attack, cause devastating damage.
I'm going for arcanine. it mixes 2 things I like.
cool wolf-dog traits and kickass fire-type moves (flamethrower as my personal favorite)
Giving your Arcanine the move Dig makes it a very powerful - and more versatile - pokemon for your team.
I stick with Kyogre and Groundon. I love my legendaries. They both have a 1-hit KO move. Sheer Cold(kyogre) and Fissure(groundon).
I have only played up to the Vermillion Gym in Fire Red, not even up to the Pewter Gym in Yellow, and up to the first real town in Emerald (as a test). Suffice it to say that I've had no experience with any legendaries.
A friend of mine did do a solo run of Sapphire with the Fire-Starter, and defeated the final part of the game with only Kyogre and Blaziken. It was interesting to see. I prefer having a group with me; it provides you with variety, and counter-measures against pokemon of differing types. One reason why giving Dig to Arcanine is useful; using Dig protects it while it is underground, and there are a couple of types that it deals extra damage to, Electric included.
All this playing of RPG Maker demos makes me want to begin on my own project, but there is much to be done still.
Also, once I do begin recording my play-through of Emerald, I shall post the links in these forums if anyone is curious about it. It will most likely be some time still before then though.
I bet Kyogre's Sheer Cold helped a bunch.
Not sure if he used it or not.
I've started up Spyro the Dragon (first one)
I've forgotten how amazing this game is and how fun it is. I can't seem to put it down xD
That was the very first game I've ever owned on the PS1, and I still own it. Not too long ago I actually managed to find a copy of the second Spyro game on the PS1, I was very lucky. I've only ever gotten to the last battle once and stopped there. I believe I deleted the save file, sadly. Ah well, maybe someday. I prefer Spyro over Banjo Kazooie.
Ahh, the spyro games...
I've got the 2nd and 3rd, never had the first unfortunetly
Man I have become addicted to osu! esecially because of the custom ost's you can make XD
so fun indeed
Someday I shall get into Stepmania... if I can improve my skills drastically on drums, I can increase my skills at pushing keys on a keyboard.
I think Pokémon XD is a very confusing name:
Person 1: What are you playing at the moment?
Person 2: I'm playing Pokémon XD
Person 1: Yeah, that is pretty embarrassing, isn't it...
I do not see the embarrassment in playing a video game that you like. I suppose you could call it a 'guilty pleasure' but not embarrassing.
I shall be tallying up a list of games I've recently begun yet not completed, and shall be defeating them one at a time.
I still have no idea what the XD in the name stands for. the full name is Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness.
First thing that popped into my head was X-Treme Dolphins.
Are there any poketmans in this incarnation fitting that description?
I have no idea. let me check my Pokedex.
There appears to be much Pokemon talk of late.
playing pokemon in a group is ok I guess...
having to watch al the movies isn't (it's creepy.... well a bit) unless you do so to get some shots
for rpg mapping.
I had to endure watching *ugh* "cute" *throws up* scenes in order to get some pics of a neat
underwater temple (I made a nice diamond-ed layout for it) in one of those movies
in fact it was too "cute" I couldn't take it anymore and started a quick session of RE5 to re-gain
some of my common sense back. then finally finished the layout.
Then I LOL'ed for like an hour when I saw super saiyan ash XD then began o throw up at the rest
of the scene due to cuteness....
btw. if ever DARE to cry on any movie (except on the extreme rare occation of movie 1 which is understandable)
then man I can't believe 4KIDS has taken over your poor soul.....
I find the Japanese version of most 4Kids ruined shows to be superior, though in this case I am primarily speaking of YuGiOh. I am a fan of card games, especially Magic: The Gathering.
Apparently Duel Monsters, the show, was originally going to be about Magic: The Gathering, which is why in the game there was the whole 'mana pool' system, which is what M:TG has always used.
yu-gi-oh is far better uncut.
especially the "berserker soul" scene. you could almost feel the guy's pain XD
I still have my deck with me. (dinosaur type)
strategy: remove fo play all my monster cards (late in game) summon tyrano infinity
(at this point with at least 10000 atk, dues to special effect of gaining 1000 atk per removed dinosaur card)
use megamorph (if I'm losing) now he's at 20000 atk. then equip either big bang shot or FMC
to pierce through defense. ussually a 1 hit KO attack
I do not enjoy the gameplay aspect of the card game, I merely enjoy collecting and watching the show. Magic: The Gathering is more of my style, there is more variables to think about and thus more strategy potentially involved.
I have begun to play the third Ratchet & Clank game, Up Your Arsenal. I had stopped playing a while back, and I've already beaten the first two, so this was a natural progression.
Started playing Final Fantasy 8 today, creating a new save, and having to delete one of my grand turismo (no idea how to spell it anymore) saves off the memory card.
I would have deleted the older save, but I think I'll keep it there incase I can't be bothered starting the whole game again (I was on disk 4!). Not that any of you care what is and isn't on my memory card, I suppose...
Asth, your post reminded me that I have to finish Jak 2, but it isn't nearly as fun as the first one I'll have to start that up again.
Hm, and no I'm reminded of team buddies, haven't played that in a long while, but, if any of you can get your hands on team buddies for the ps1, grab it, and enjoy.
I have begun to play
This part of the sentence is more passive than it has to be, Mr. Grammar
"I started playing..."
Just teasin' u.
Quite alright. You should place your old avatar once again, it is strange not to see that great artwork attached to each of your posts.
The furthest in Final Fantasy 8 that I have been was most likely just after gaining your final playable character for Squall's party, seeing as you have Squall's group and Laguna's group before-hand.
I was unsure as to how I would input a 'spoiler' button in my post, so I decided to leave it a little vague but not too much so as to give a good hint.
What is that game about Karl? I love Playstation 1 and 2 games greatly, and I would like to find some other interesting ones. Also, Jak and Daxter did not give me much joy when I played the first and third games, I much prefer the Ratchet and Clank installments.
If you'd like, I could post my Playstation collection, or simply post links to the PS1 Collection videos I have made on Youtube.
Mass Effect 1. Having trouble with that boss with the tubes, and don't have any medikit or whatever you call them, and keep dying, and having to try and find cheats and stuff and don't work.
Moonbase Alpha is pretty fun, but only for the text-speech. lol.
That is one game I shall be anticipating to enjoy once I begin to thoroughly delve into the current generation of games.
Ah. I played Mass Effect 2, but never played one. Loved the hell out of mass effect 2. The most interesting thing in mass effect 2 was the dialouge; very close to a real-life conversation (The way the characters react and the way the camera shows emotion and meaning..), with the exception of being limited to choices.
Reminiscing on that, I recall seeing a trailer for Mass Effect 3 and the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim...
Too bad there was no gameplay footage for either...however, at least I know that they are both in development now.
I'll be looking forward to their releases in 2011. If they are released by then that is.
A new Elder Scrolls? If it is anything like Oblivion I shall most definitely purchase it, I've played days worth on one game of Oblivion. I've thought of deleting that character so that I may remake him more efficiently. Some things I've forgotten to do are:
Buying five skill points at each level, since you will no longer be able to buy said skill points if you sleep to increase your level.
Fine-tune my character's skills, as well as increasing the skills in a way so as to increase more important stats such as Intelligence, Strength, and Endurance.
I believe if we had a thread about Oblivion I could fill pages of it all on my own. :3
I believe if we had a thread about Oblivion I could fill pages of it all on my own. :3
We almost did that to this topic with Oblivion, and pokemon more recently too. XD
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/elderscrollsvskyrim/news.html?sid=6285278
There's a link to a post containing the trailer on the new elder scrolls game. The news about the new game is recent, so there isn't much in the way of spoilers. I do know that the new elder scrolls might finally have something like a dragon in-game. (excluding Martin taking the form of the avatar of akatosh in the end-game of oblivion.)
And btw, we are coming close to the 100th post on this thread. Gratz to you Asthayanax for making a huge hit of a thread.
I popped in my copy of FFIII (VI) into my Snes. I'm so happy its still in perfect shape.
There is a lot that Arvis says in the Snes version than he does in the others, it surprised me to see that after playing the GBA and PSX version. Arvis actually tells you about the Returners when you meet Locke. And unless I need to pick up my GBA copy again, that never happens in the later translations/ports xD
Oh, I'm also gonna start IX! Again! I recently purchased it for the PSX (had already gotten and helped cooked food with Eiko...), but I lost the powercord to my PS2 so I put it on my PSP and decided to start again.
Almost 100? A fine achievement.
I still haven't finished everything in Oblivion, I shall most likely try to do most of what I haven't touched such as Shivering Isles before trying out the new game.
The furthest I've gotten in FF9 is most likely the last dungeon, where I went into that giant ship.
Final Fantasy 6 is most likely my favorite, or at least tied with Final Fantasy 4.
Thank you for your kind words Asthayanax. I revived my avatar. I stopped going to RPG Town when Inq attacked my artworx and everyone joined in. It clarified the community had been spoiled by his influence. Not just a typically harsh critique but an obviously personal attack "It looks really, really ugly"
I just got to the upside-down castle in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. So neat. The difficulty of the game leading up to is just as inconsistent as I remember. One minute I'm dying every 5 seconds, then I score a nice weapon and suddenly it's a cake-walk. Or, I'll die every 5 seconds going from room to room, but then I'll own the boss without being hit once.
It took me forever to find the "Abandoned Mine" to get me to "The Catacombs". In the "Underground Caverns" you need to lure a skeleton ape over and have him (or her!) throw a flaming barrel at this wooden plank directly above an HP-increase and a Heart-increase. Here I was thinking I was just getting an HP and Heart increase, but it unlocks a surprisingly large area of the game! I've played this game through a few times before, I just forgot how to get there.
NEwayz I'm mostly mentioning this because "Granfaloon" (sp) in the Catacombs is my favourite boss in the game. It was the inspiration for the golden ball of limbs in my sig heh.
Have we already talked about Fallout: New Vegas? I can't remember. I stopped playing when I got my Suikoden 1 and Castlevania. It's nothing personal, I plan to go back to that game. Oh I should also mention I'm at the end of Suikoden 1. I got all of the Stars of Destiny, not that it's difficult in this game.
Indeed, I had less trouble obtaining characters in the first Suikoden than when I played the second.
As for Symphony of the Night, I am within the reverse castle's alchemy laboratory portion, and the multiple demons who spawn even more monsters are giving me some difficulty. I need some of the more powerful weapons. I remember that part with the Skeletal Ape, it wasn't too difficult personally, and I agree on the bosses being much easier than the regular monsters, mainly because of their numbers.
I suggest that you get the the Reverse Castle's version of the library, and continue to kill both the lion-men in blue armor as well as the Balloons, which are those floating heads in painted sacks. The blue armored lions will drop the Fist of Tulkas, a nice fist-weapon, and the Balloons (I'm not sure if that is their name) shall drop a marvelous sword that will strike seven times with each push of the attack button.
I'm on the reverse castle myself too. (great minds think alike huh? XD)
Same story, on the alhemy lab trying not to die fighting that horrid putrid hanged man.
(This could be added to my most disturbing VG bosses topic)
I still have nightmares of the inverted coliseum (BG gets to me O.o)
SOTN truly is a PS1 masterpiece. (more addicting than FFVII in my case)
P.S Thats a very neat avatar you have zatham. XD
Indeed. I own the physical soundtrack to Symphony of the Night. I would like to buy some more, perhaps once Christmas is over and I can afford to buy something for myself once again. My sister and I are going to finish our Christmas shopping this coming Saturday.
I am almost done with Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal I believe. I've gotten my health to maximum (100 on the first playthrough, I believe that if you play through it a second time on the new mode you can double it.), and with 10 out of 20 weapons upgraded to maximum. Right now, my three favorite weapons are the Decimator (it's a rocket launcher which explodes into twelve smaller missiles that target the nearest enemies), the Splitter Rifle (a very powerful sniper rifle that hits multiple enemies in a row or enemies close together side by side, with relatively no range limit), and the Plasma Storm. (The most powerful weapon other than the RY3NO, it shoots a very powerful orb of plasma which destroy anything and moves around the target, shocking it - and everything around it - until they die)
I love the Ratchet and Clank series, I own the fourth so once I've gone through this game and gotten all the weapons and whatnot (The RY3NO and the last suit of armor [which you can only buy after beating the game] still elude me), I shall play the sequel.
I might need to look at a list of R&C games to see what would be the proper sequence to play them in from here on out.
R&C size matters, is a good one.
hace neat graphics for a PSP game.
Ahh the PSP, yet another platform I have to get. It has some terrific games for it.
I have Size Matters for the PS2 though, so no worries there. The ones on the PS3 might pose a problem, seeing as I have yet to purchase one for myself.
I didn't realize other people were playing Castlevania: SOTN right now, that's awesome. I've just started upside-down world.... I keep beating Medusa but get killed as I explore before finding a save point.
One of my favourite parts of the game is using the purple fake save point and going into the nightmare to fight the Succubus. Did I mention that already? I'll be so embarrassed if I have.
There are so many games out for the PSP I want, it's getting a little ridiculous. One on the horizon I'm really interested in is "Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together". I remember playing the Japanese SNES version on an emulator. It seemed fun, despite having no clue what was going on.
My dad has this obsession with buying gaming systems and never using them. He got a PSP a year or two ago and he's used it MAYBE 3 times. He should just give it to me but he's very proprietorial. In the past year he's gotten a laptop (he's home all day and has a desktop), a Wii, and a PS3. He's used the PS3 maybe twice. Perhaps I can buy the PSP and Playstation 3 off him or something.
Hey, i just bought Oblivion and Resident Evil 5!
I think its unhealthy how much i play pokemon too. Oh yes, i forgot to mention Pokemon Gold. Not heart gold, the actual Pokemon Gold!
Current Pokemon games:
1.Pokemon Emerald
2.Pokemon Sapphire
3.Pokemon Firered
4.Pokemon XD
5.Pokemon Collesum
6.Pokemon Yellow
7.Pokemon Gold(not Heartgold, The original gold game pack!)
8.Pokemon Pearl
Kyogre
Groundon
