Sounds like an exorbitant amount of work but I am glad that you are enjoying the fruits of your labor.

I am thinking of purchasing either Audiosurf or Magicka... but am unsure as to which would work better on my laptop.

I'm glad "KH: Birth by Sleep" worked out for your RAVSO. You earned it. It's a shame I had to call the Mexican authorities on you.

I'm getting into "Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy 12" or w/e. I did NOT like playing as Lightning at all, and am much preferring Vaan. Vaan is the bomb, gameplay-wise. Looks-wise, I can respect a pretty boy but it's like..... really? You have the face of an 8 year old girl.

Bartz was my main character in the last game but he has been nerfed in this one. Undecided Imo.

But I actually came here to tell you all I got "Dragon Age 2" for freesies with my new smart phone Hot. I really enjoy it so far!!! My main character is an (African American) woman with neon turquoise lips and blue eye shadow. If Jake is reading this: Yes, she is a rogue.

I am looking forward to going home and playing it, although I might not have time today unfortunately. That means I have to wait until tomorrow. And frankly, that's too long.

I've put a few hours into my very first Wii game, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, and am enjoying it very much. I've played through most of the campaign in Majesty on the PC, and have played Audiosurf. I've probably gotten into the last tier of Mystic Quest, have finally gotten past the last area I was at in FF12 the last time I had played, have unlocked a lot of things in Plants Versus Zombies, and bought Paladin's Quest as well as a complete copy of Grandia for my collection. There is more, but I cannot think of it at the moment.

Technically my BBS Final Mix ISO is legit. according to many psp sites. having a backup ´´iso´´ of any UMD psp game is legal if you own the physical copy of the UMD itself  (thank god for ebay) so I´m on the green zone.

as for any Wii games.... well to be honest I only have SSBB because of the lack of any decent games.

......seriously there´s tons of suck 3rd party games that no one would buy for the wii.

and yes Vaan owns Lightning in almost all aspects  even gameplay wise

I'd almost buy a Wii JUSt for SSBB to be perfectly, unabashedly honest with you.

Paladin's Quest is a SWEET game, imo, Asthayanax. Obviously the translation couldn't possibly be worse, and it's overall really ghetto... but it has a really unique charm. Lots of creativity in that game. It's technically one of my faves, I just pretend it's an NES game to justify the crappyness.

*sigh* I've got to get 3DS... some many sweet titles incoming

plus after watching a hardware/software video I gotta say I'm hoping to get to play the incoming remake of OoT. let's hope they don't screw it up.

*sigh* there goes my dream of watching OoT with TP graphics

The copy of Paladin's Quest that I have is a complete copy in-box, and its Japanese-only sequel is easily within my reach, translated even. It is called Lenneth 2 I believe.

From personal experience I find that people who honestly believe that the Wii has barely any good games simply has not taken any care in researching its library of games. I have over 20 games on my Buying List for the Wii, and that is simply from looking at other game collectors on Youtube to see what Wii games they've gotten. I don't rely on someone's opinion, but on what the game itself has to offer for me, which is why I cannot take any reviews at face value. Muramasa: The Demon Blade is a terrific game, with Odin Sphere's terrific art style - obvious since it's made by Vanillaware, who also made Grim Grimoire and Odin Sphere.

Yeah I really enjoyed Lennus/Lenneth 2. It's funny, Paladin's Quest was soooo low-end for the SNES's capabilities, and in contrast, Lennus 2/Paladin's Quest 2 is very high-end for the system. Actually, that isn't very funny.

The music is really good (that was another thing I liked about Paladin's Quest btw) and omg graphics!

Here is a guide someone made on the game's mercenaries:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/563031-lennus-ii-fuuin-no-shito/58402989

I wish I had that resource while I was playing heh.

I shall definitely purchase its translated counterpart then. I remember good memories of Paladin's Quest, that and it is a hard to find RPG for the Super Nintendo.

Pokemon Red, Gauntlet Dark Legacy, and The DOT are all I've been playing lately.

Pokemon Red is on my to buy list, and Fire Red is very difficult for me to find in good boxed condition. I DID however, find a perfectly good boxed copy of Pokemon Leaf Green (which I am currently playing), among other games. I've been playing Minecraft, Plants Vs. Zombies, some Brutal Legend (I've stopped just short of the inner sanctum to the Cleave), and some 2-player games here and there.

I am currently training my as of yet incomplete pokemon team to level 17+ in order to defeat Gary at the Nugget Bridge north of Cerulean City... which is more of a village might I add, three houses, one center, one gym, and two stores does not make you a city I'm afraid.

My team currently consists of a Charmeleon, a Spearow, a Mankey, a Pikachu, and a Magikarp. I am using the switch-out trick in order to get Magikarp slowly to level 20, where he will become my team's water pokemon of choice; Gyarados. Charizard will make a fine fire type, Fearow is a decent Flying pokemon so long as you wait until level 25 to let Spearow evolve, so that he/she may learn Aerial Ace, one of the best Flying type moves out there, Pikachu will make a decent Electric Pokemon after I've evolved him using a Thunder Stone, if I can get his decent physical moves learnt before-hand... I would love to obtain a Nidoran male, seeing as it is my absolute favorite pokemon and evolution chain. I am keeping two Moon Stones just in case, and probably should capture a second Nidoran female in order to trade for one.

That said, I've finally been able to borrow my friend's camera again, and shall make a 'Games I Bought Recently' video, seeing as I've had to put that mini-series off and have compiled a fairly cumbersome stack of additions to my collection.

I did begin playing Soul Blazer, as a video Play-through on Youtube, I can post it if you'd like in the Youtube Reel thread.

I tried once, but it was more of a hassle donçt know why.... I wonder if they would make a pokemon game that has anime-style traveling involved (meet people be a hero etc... )

Pokemon, in its own right, is a unique RPG genre. There are games that may cater to that style I believe, I am not sure if it's the Rescue Team or pokemon Dungeon games that are on the DS, but they're worth a try. I would suggest using a DS emulator in order to try them out without having to buy them first.

Paladin's Quest...I've owned that game for almost 2 years now and still haven't spent more than five minutes playing it...maybe I should give it another go. The first time I played it was probably 15 or 16 years ago and even then never played more than ten minutes of the game lol Guess maybe this weekend I'll try it again

I only own 6 pokemon, I never caught more than that.

Charizard (start)

Pidgeotto (These first two were all I had for the first three badges)

Gyaradose

Haunter

Gengar

annnnd Hitmonlee

That's all the pokemon I need.

Pokemon died after Ruby and Saphire. It's now being used as a cash cow. Seriously, look at the new pokemon.

Yamask- USED to be human (Yeah, I used to have a wife and kids, a good job, lots of friends, played guitar like a beast, and  was part of the most epic band known to man, but sire kid. I'll go beat up that dog looking thing up for you. No problem!)

and Drifloon - A balloon that KIDNAPS CHILDEREN. WHAT. THE. SHIT.

I've managed to get a Nidoran male, and have most of my final team already, my Charmander, Gyarados, Spearow, Pikachu, and Nidoran. I'm missing a good fighting pokemon, such as Machop, but will most likely have the Fighting pokemon get swapped out for anything else I would need in a given situation, such as a psychic pokemon. Mister Mime is quite a good substitute for Alakazam.

I've heard a lot of good things about The Witcher from Shawn Andrich who hosts the Gamers With Jobs podcast.

I've been playing a lot of Pokemon Leaf Green, I've beaten the third gym, Electric, and am making my way to Lavender Town to decimate Erika's Grass Gym with my soon-to-evolve Charmeleon. Her trainers and pokemon of her own shall pave the way to my obtaining Charizard with their corpses.

Indeed, that is one thing I found very daunting about Fire Emblem games. It is one of the few things that make Shining Force a better choice for a strategy RPG, including being able to revisit areas to level up your units.

I recently picked up "Final Fantasy Complete". You know, I'm not crazy about Square-Enix just pimping out their old games and making killer profits off it. However, I like my old games with new features and new graphics so nm.

At first I didn't like the visuals as it literally looked like it was made in RMXP (I do NOT like 24-bit sprites, just my o) but they've really grown on me.

In my opinion the tiles are beautiful but TOO detailed (like Inq's work >P). These are still backgrounds, too much detail distracts the eye from the action.

As you know by now, I really like having lots of characters at my disposal. Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (..... @ that name) apparently has 22 characters to select from in the final chapter.

I've wanted to try that game. Apparently I can buy a chapter and decide on that whether or not I wish to continue playing after the fact. 22 characters sounds interesting.

I've begun to learn a bit about Mugen. I've learned about importing characters and stages, as well as adding music to the stages. I used the DJ Van E.V.E. for my screen layout. It's quite an interesting change in the character select among other things, but I would like to change to the HD version at some point.

I'm still deciding if I should buy FFIVCC, well the words "complete collection" do sound appealing to those who seek the full blast of such an awesome game            (myself included Smile ) BUT.....

Is it truly THE complete collection?

well a year and half ago I remeber getting FFIV for the DS. after all a 3D remake that promised to learn from the mistakes of it's previous 3D counterpart...                       (I'm looking at you FFIII!!!) also add voice-overs and added stat-boosters, in the end the game did keep it's promise somewhat.... compared to FFIII it did improve, a LOT but then I cleared the game. but sadly that was it. no extra dungeons, no play as Edward, Yang, Palom or Porom, NO frikin Lunar Ruins! in other words those who truly wanted to get the most of FFIV should have gone over the GBA release.

it was dissapointing, the only new stuff was 2 optional bosses, (tough to beat) some auguments and some hidden summons for Rydia, but no additional stuff.

which brings me to it's PSP counterpart.

does FFIVCC have these? the Lunar Ruins and Cave of Ordeals dungeon? the main story is good, yes but it always left me with an itch to go back into that uber-hard ruins and get some awesome weapons.

I would like to purchase the Final Fantasy re-releases on the newer platforms for the collector's aspect, as well as to find the better version of the lot. I like that they go out of their way to remake their more succesful games in other manners such as 3D versions and whatnot.

I've put a couple of hours in Borderlands for the 360, such a fantastic game! I love the Diablo-esque game mechanics, and the fact that it's a First Person Shooter RPG makes me love the game even more.

Besides that, I've tried to fiddle about with M.U.G.E.N. for the first time. I've followed a simple tutorial from Mugen-Infantry, and I've learned how to get a new E.V.E. (which is the layout of the game, such as the intro screen, character select, etc.), how to add new characters, how to add stages and allocate them to players if you want to, as well as adding music to said stages. I love in-depth programs such as Stepmania and M.U.G.E.N. where you can completely customize not only the content but the program itself.

Does anyone here use M.U.G.E.N.?

I'm kind of interested in the Final Fantasy IV super-duper package, as it's a game I'm very fond of though have not as of yet completed. I was playing it on the Playstation, though, and it took about 60 minutes to load up the next screen. I rather like the new graphics, especially the battle graphics. I did play on the DS one briefly but I couldn't get into it - I definitely prefer the SNES graphics - they just didn't 'feel right' to me.

I'm about three years behind everyone else and have been playing through Dragon Age: Origins for the first time. Not sure how far through I am, but it's very good despite not being my usual style of RPG (i.e. a 'PC style' as opposed to console-y). I think I should probably be worried when NPCs start telling me that my decisions aren't the most prudent, though.

I remember mucking about with M.U.G.E.N. years and years ago, but I could never make heads or tails of it. I'm not really a fan of fighting games so I didn't really feel compelled to pursue it any further. The capacity for customisation and doing what you want to do is very impressive, though.

me well. not M.U.G.E.N however, I picked this homebrew port of DDR for the PSP (unofficial) it´s called PSP revolution, well PSPR accepts any stepmania or DDR custom music maps (with the exception of removing gifs and videos, only images allowed) you can custom the main screen menu, arrows etc.... you can make it look like stepmania or DDR etc.... highly customizable, and I gotta say it sure beats listening to mp3 only.... especially while I´m either waiting in line or got nothing to do.

This is my 2nd favorite PSP homebrew

On the issue of homebrew, the best game I ever played on the PSP was Day of the Tentacle (thank you ScummVM).

If I were thinking about games that I've played recently in addition to Dragon Age, I have also been playing Braid (nothing short of stunning though still struggling with one of two puzzles) and The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom (similar and not as well executed but utterly charming and has fantastic music) courtesy of Mr. Steam. Also I've become addicted to a PS3 soccer game (I think I have Inq to blame for that).

I'm going to play Borderlands tonight in your honour, Asthayanax. I played it a bit when I got it, then stopped. Presumably in favour of Fallout: New Vegas.

RAVSO: Yes, Final Fantasy IV Complete DOES have the GBA add-ons we all love. Final Fantasy IV Complete uses the GBA port of FFIV as a base, NOT the 3D DS one.

I don't feel like playing through the FFIV plot AGAIN when it feels like I just finished the 3D version, so I'm sticking to "The After Years".

Indeed? I thank thee then. I've played a few more hours today, the game has enough to challenge me without me being irate at the game; I have yet to find an instance where I'm genuinely stressed out or anything of the sort. There was this one instance where I fought Scar the Skag boss for the first time, had placed my Scorpio turret (I am playing as a Soldier if you couldn't tell by this point), and as I was firing at Scar, he launched me into the air from the other side of my turret's barricade, sending me into some cacti, thoroughly planting me into some geometry that I could not get out of, forcing me to exit the game and restart. This meant going all the way through the dens of Skags that I had previously defeated along the way. The bright side was that I had gotten a level from Scar at that point, and retained all of my loot and experience from the first foray into Skag Valley.

All in all a terrific game that suits my tastes just fine.

Hopefully this doesn't count as necroposting.  Currently I'm playing Suikoden and Alundra on my PS3, and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded on my 3DS.

Spoiler: Highlight to view
I'm at the first war fight after the Elf Village is destroyed by the Burning Mirror, which I can't win and I hate that you can't save right before the war.  In Alundra I just finished the Crypt level.  And In Re:coded, I'm currently in Wonderland.

With so few threads that have as long a life span as this, I doubt that anyone would begrudge you any for posting here, we're still posting after all.

I've gotten up to level 19 with my Soldier in Borderlands, and my weapons include a sniper rifle, a nice electric-imbued sub machine gun, and a good shot gun. Once my fourth slot is opened, I shall place an electric-imbued rocket launcher that I found, and will replace it with my powerful electric-imbued magnum once I reach level 25. Lightning element is terrific in this game. It cuts through energy shields and stuns, which I definitely need against tanks such as the Alpha Skags. Ever have to fight three at a time? It's not a walk in the park.

All of my quests are finished, except for going into the mines to defeat Sledge. I shall attempt to gain a level or two before venturing into that area, I don't feel adequate enough for the job as of yet.

Besides Borderlands, I've gotten into the Team Rocket base in Leaf Green, and am at Giovanni's room. My pokemon are a Charizard, a Gyarados level 29 (or 30), a Fearow level 30, a Nidorino level 30 (I will wait until it obtains its next move before using a moonstone on it, at level 35 or 36 I believe), a Pikachu level 28 (I bought a Thunderstone, but will only use it at 41 after it's learned Thunder), and my HM pokemon, Bellsprout. It is only level 14 or 15 I think.

I'm questioning myself either if I should or should not get Valkiria Chronicles 2 for my PSP, there was a free psp demo in the PSN but it's still down.

and the only incentive I have is that if I buy the game, I can use my phantasy star portable 2 save, to unlock Emilia as an extra unit. but in overall...

has anyone played VC2? and if so, how good is it?

I haven't played any games on the PS3 or PSP unfortunately.

Would you happen to know which version of Mugen would be best for me to use? I've deleted Mugen after an hour of fruitless effort to make the music play for the Title, Select, and Versus screens... apparently I'm one of many MANY people who've had this happen. I apparently have to re-download Mugen or some such thing, but am unsure which version to get. I know there is WinMugen, which I had tried to and failed to get to work, as well as Mugen 1.0.

I will try to find the official Mugen website, hopefully there is one.

I made an account on Newgrounds to obtain the medals I can unlock when playing games, I unlocked a few by playing Epic Battle Fantasy, it's quite enjoyable.

I just finished playing all the way through Skies of Arcadia. Something like 40 hours. Epic ship battles are epic.

I have an opportunity to purchase it for the Dreamcast, but am hoping to get it both for the Dreamcast and the Gamecube, as collectors' items. Should I play the Gamecube version?

Gamecube usually removes something out, of sega games, not all cases but most do. the only advantage of the GC would be smoother graphics maybe

Indeed. Then I shall give the Dreamcast version a test run; if I can play through Shadow Madness and absolutely love it, then graphics most likely do not have much pull over me.

I've bought Rune Factory for the DS and Drilldozer for the Game Boy Advance. Drilldozer is quite enjoyable, and I am a fan of Harvest Moon which is why I bought Rune Factory knowing that I would have a good experience with it.

Someday I might attempt to purchase the complete box set of the Japanese game SeGaGaGa, its title resembling the Sega logo, but being SGGG instead of SEGA. It's a very interesting game, and the box set is chalk-full of goodies. I suggest looking it up on HappyConsoleGamer's channel, since he has the best review video of SeGaGaGa as of right now.
