well I used HBL on the psp to try out geometry wars. I gotta say that was one very addicting piece

of homebrew!

but then god knows how I managed to brick it once the 6.31 hen got released

I shall try again by using the hammers. I do not believe that there are any citizens left for me to free, because there is only currently Ecclesia, the Monastery, Ruvas Forest, Wygol Village, Kalidus Channel (with the sunken ship floating, and the ring there is the Priestess Ring, which just changes stats), the Prison Island, and the Lighthouse.

I am not fond of those sorts of games, sand-box games or third person games of that genre don't appeal to me very much. I'm not sure whether or not there is one out there that might change my mind.

Those are gr8 tips RAVSO, although I already knew some!!!!!!! (I figured out the villager thing, I was missing one)

In an effort to be different from my game twin, I picked "Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow" up, a used copy for cheap!!!!! I think it's supposed to be a rare game too.

A few years back I was looking for "Disgaea: Hour of Darkness" and "Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne". Both are very rare in-stores and expensive online. I went into an Electronics Boutique a couple times and asked "Do you have 'Disgaea: Hour of Darkness' Sticking Out Tongue heh." and after looking it up they'd tell me "No we don't have it. It's really rare Sticking Out Tongue See 'ya." But then, maybe the third time, I saw a used copy on the shelf at one of the local Electronics Boutiques (so I bought it)!! And the same thing happened with "Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne". Coincidentally(?) they're two of my fave gamez.

Although I've beaten Aria of Sorrow I've yet to play Dawn of Sorrow. I do own Disgeaia 1 and 2, as well as SMT: Nocturne among other Shin Megami Tensei games. I recently purchased the box set of Devil Summoner 2. I'm disappointed that it didn't come with an art book or soundtrack but it is still a nice box set.

I've finally beaten that stupid giant enemy crab. Internet joke intended. I did die three times in a row in the process though.

the lighthouse crab is just the beginning.

later you will encounter an even more arduos boss. the room is narrow so jumping won't get you

off the hook! instead equip your axe and duck. (this way you can avoinds it'd coming shots and attack)

(I'm not telling the name of the boss neither where you fight him. I try not to spoil a LOT

However really there's little room to move and the boss can appear anywhere so you're at a tactical

disadvantage)

also asth. the ring I speak of IS in the kalidus channel, however it's not on the red chest (the one that never respawns)

but rather on a green one. the thing is if you don't get it first all you have to do is exit the level and re-enter

and repeat until you get it. (this is kinda like getting crissagerim in SOTN so don't expect instant results)

P.S forgot to add. I have cleared boss rush 1 without damage (finally! phew!) so if you need a certain boss

strategy just ask, I'm pretty sure I still remember some of their patterns.

I used a complete map to get all the treasures from the Channel, I've gotten the Magician's Ring and the Resist Ring, but no ring for gold. Unless the ring you speak of is a drop from a certain monster.

how odd. hmm if memory fails me I believe it's a chest on one of the water levels.

(been a long time since I played this sorry)

but in consequence yes a certain monster drops it too. (later in game REAL later in game though)

tell you what if I can find the game pak (I gotta have it somewhere) we can maybe get online and trade goods

name the item and I might have it. (I'll be an orange cat with the store called R.A.V.S.O)

NOTE: You can only do online trading after shanoa finds at least 1 cat (the easiest is on the monastery)

also you gotta have at least 1 item for sale. in my case I can sell you the extra money ring

(I'd give it to you for free but I forcedly have to sell it T_T)

Order of Ecclesia! Ahh! I played that one! My friend let me borrow his DS so I could. I swear, I was SO close to 100%...and I loved the Chinese vampire boss. It made me happy. So happy.

If I typo and leave it, it's because I'm being attacked by my kitten, Stink. Why Stink? Think about it, it should be obvious.

MAJOR TIP: For this chinese boss.

You'll notice most of his attacks DECIMATE your HP.

although the boss moves very sluggish he CAN and will corner you, he has

2 attacks

1) summon chinese warriors, (HINT: glyph is absorbable) He calls 2 "mini" versions

of himself on the field. dispatch these as soon as possible.

2) energy orb, this is a very deadly attack, he calls forth a medium sized energy ball

the ball however chases you and does around 400-500 damage on impact.

also the ball stays there until there has been an impact. (the bastard summons

multiple balls!)

here's a life saver: MELIO SCUTUM! using your shield safely kills down the ball

so go ahead and beat the crap out of that boss.

NOTE: Once you kill him a seal is placed on his forehead, as mentioned before

do NOT attack or the seal will break, forcing you to re-fight the boss at full HP!

(Staying for too long in that room yields the same effects, bring tons of potions / food

use your swords (secares) with distance and good luck!)

I am currently in the midst of fighting the mermaid boss, I have figured out her Pneuma attack, easily double jumped over or ignored, and so long as I have those pillars that she summons, I can evade her tidal waves, her other attacks are a little annoying, and I have yet to figure out what damages her the most. Perhaps lightning.

asth for the mermaid bitch. here's a HP budget hint:

she's weak to ranged attacks, if you get close she'll whip you out.

her ranged attack is the tidal wave. (avoided by staying in the rocks)

however sadly theses stones can easily be broken by shanoa's sword attacks

my suggestion: BOW & ARROWS

it's ranged. does good damage, and you can easily avoid hitting stones this way

I always place myself under a rock. bombard her with arrows and she dies

in seconds.

as for you zatham. well.... good luck with the wallmaster

HINT: His attack pattern is similar to a bomberman bomb, if you hit him enough

he drops a max potion. you'll eventually find a way to his demise. ....eventually

I managed to defeat her using Pneuma, it dealt about 43 damage per hit and I could pull off two at a time if I used one for each Glyph button. I shall most likely take a look at some maps to see if I missed any hidden items, and then move on to the mansion.

Indeed, Symphony of the Night was Kirby's Epic Yarn compared to these, personally.

I am now ready to face the boss in the Oblivion Ridge, and by that I mean I am to that point, I'm not actually 'ready' per say. I've finished up a ton of the quests though, so all that is needed is for me to defeat this boss so I can do the rest, but it seems to be difficult, even though I have the Glyph to strengthen my magic and I have the second level ice spell, which Ice is its weakness.

I suppose I could buy a Sapphire Ring to increase my Ice damage, I did get a Blue Pouch as a reward for one of the quests, so that shall also help me.

I'm fighting a stupid mole rat thing boss in "Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow". When it gets mad its face comes out of its skin (?) (like a penis head with its foreskin rolled back) (Americans and Jews are like "??? what's that") and fires what I can only refer to as a "Hyper Energy Beam" doing a ridiculous amount of damage.

I should mention, I picked up "Final Fantasy Dissidia" over the weekend. Quite addictive imo. I've played through Cecil, Cloud, and Tidus' story modes. I found Cecil pretty hard to use but I also didn't know how to move when I was playing as him so it might be better now. ... But I really liked using Cloud.

................ @ how many games I'm playing at the moment. I'm usually not that much of a gamer o.O but I've been gaming like mad lately.

That's good. I'd like to play Dawn of Sorrow, I've beaten Aria of Sorrow so it would make sense to play the next game with Soma Cruz in it.

Dissidia is definitely one of the first games that I shall be acquiring for my collection once I buy a PSP. I hear that Cloud is very fun to use (and easy) because of how much he acquires in skills and abilities, since apparently he gets stronger very quickly compared to other characters.

I also hear that one of the characters (I think Sephiroth) is incredibly difficult to fight because of how much range he has.

Indeed. I've just played a few hours of Minecraft...

I built a dock beside my Granary, I worked for a long time on my Mine, making a vertical mineshaft near my entrance so I could have sunlight come into the mine, and made two glass floors; one at the top of the mountain and one at the top of the ladder inside. I also made some stone roads and stairs, found a dungeon with a giant Spider Spawning cage... it is a very addicting game to say the least! I could go on but need to stop myself. :3

I just ordered MS Saga: A New Dawn for the PS2, as well as a translated reproduction of Chronicles Of The Radia War for the NES (you should try that game, it is quite fun). I am greatly anticipating both game, I've wanted MS Saga for a long time, and I'm almost all the way through Chronicles Of The Radia War.

I've heard horror stories about how long one game can last, as well as how utterly addicting it can get, to just do one more thing before finishing your turn, just for a minute longer... and then to find out that an hour has past.

Ah Sid Meyer, you are a genius.

I hear that a lot of things were simplified to keep the gameplay smooth, as opposed to having a lot of micro-managing to maintain.

Want a time/life consuming ps2/psp game?

DISGAEA 2

In my opinion it's like a fire emblem without limits, as you can reach a msx level of

9999, then it's possible to reincarnate, (return back to level 1, but stats carry over)

and repeat the process. also I might add you can create your own units plus

recruit a few.

I have a friend who made a gunner that can land 2352467K damege on a single hit

(his gunner is called achim. (over 300000K of HP) on D1 it was zorc.)

this is probably the highest I've seen stat parameters go

I've beaten two story modes on Warriors Orochi 2, and will most likely finish the other three before moving on to another game, maybe finish one of the ones that I had put aside.

grinding isn't so bad. once you know where and how to pull it off.

I remeber that on D2 on a certain cave of trials (think it was 5.)

after moving certain geo panels you had a nice exp +300% effect

all you had to do then was mow down the enemy. and BAM

free exp. also having a character with felonies makes it easier to level up.

A little secret I found out:

when going to a court to recieve a felony. you can have more than 1 player

recieve the felony. just stack all players you want to get felonies for into a tower

(char 1 lifts char 2 then char 3 lifts 1&2 etc...) then have another character throw

the tower into the court warp.

now all the characters in the tower will recieve that felony.

Happy Grinding!

The Castle in Heroes 3 is much better than the Castle (or 'Knight') in 2. The units are over-all better, and I am happy that the garbage unit for the Castle is no longer the Peasant. Not even with an army of a thousand peasants could you kill anything.

My current game of choice (besides the occasional Minecraft) is Master of the Monster Lair for the DS. It's quite an easy game to pick up, and I've spent many hours on it already. It is somewhat of a dungeon crawler, but you ARE building dungeon floors and then exploring them to loot it, so it's understandable.

I know that there was one cinematic on the PSX version that was the Fall of Guardia, which was possibly Dalton from the Dark Ages traveling through time to the Present and destroying things. I cannot be certain though.

I know that the DS version has a new optional dungeon and boss, I am not sure if there really is a new ending to it though.
