an Rpg maker collab?

So I got this "idea".... why not take all our main characters, decide a story, and work it down by chapters?

say my main project character is Sesilou so we'd put him working along all your main characters while working for a main goal.

HOW CHAPTERS WORK:

Ok so, since it's a collab there won't be only 1 game folder, rather many... say 1 rpg maker game is 1 chapter... since it's a collab, each of us makes a chapter while centering it to his/her main character while keeping the storyline in sync.

For example let's say... asth got chapter 3 and I got chapter 4,

Asth makes his chapter centered in his main character, while using ANY battle system he'd like, he just makes sure his chapter keeps up to the plot. afterwards once his chapter is done, that's my cue to make a new rpg maker project, my project starts off where asth's chapter ends... but mine will be centered on Sesilou and a battle system of my choosing, so where my chapter ends, someone else's project starts

hence how we actually make progress in-game. all we'd need is the storyline, how we can split chapters, and what battle system to use on the final chapter (this one is a bit special)

so.... besides me, any other volunteers to a collab?

So if we do this, is there going to be like a basic story set out, or do we each have to make the story up based off of the previous creator? And are the characters going to interact between one another, or each others worlds, for that matter? That would be pretty rad, if we pulled that off.

Hello BlackHOUND. I have come back from my homeplanet bearing cookies and stuff. But yeah.... We should make up a sort of overall general storyline to follow, so we can all work on our parts at the same time, increasing productivity.

well the original idea would have been on XP... But seeing how the collab is diverse it can cross boundaries in rpg makers

also if you'd like to include other main characters into your story you can do so but you still gotta focus in your main.

There's your main character and the collab's story

in terms of priority: 1st: the collab's story (main objective) 2nd: your character's background-story ( it gets downgraded form it's main story to side-story and quests)

the main story (still undefined) should be split according to how many members joined the collab,

HOW CHAPTERS WORK:

Each one of us is responsible for his or her own chapter, the only requirement is that it keeps in track with the main story, to fill it up. add sidequests from your main characters. each chapter to avoid being a burden should not exceed 30 minutes of gameplay

besides that YOU decide EVERYTHING the mapping scripting, battle systems. as long as it keeps up with the main story, if you want you can include other people's main characters as backup but you never control them

Chapters, can be done in the same timeline, say chapters 4 & 5 happen at the same time but with different areas to explore etc.... (if you can have characters visit other places other people can't that would be EPIC)

Your character's story is up to you, however there's a catch....

battle-wise your character needs apecial abilities... nothing god-like, something that can give you a slight advantage in some situations, after all nobody likes playing with god nor with a plain character.

If you want in on the collab post your main character here with a brief resume of his or her background story, and lastly the list of it's special skills

here's mine

CHARACTER NAME: Sesilou (previously age 17.... now 18)

BG-STORY: Sesilou was at one point a systems-engineering student at a semi-valued high school, his goal was to make a program to revolutionize how people used their PC's however.... deeply he craved for a more active life, one a certain day, due to radiation from a seemingly lost mineral, Sesilou materialized in a parallel universe where war has separated 2 continents with 2 inmenseley different points of view, halfway through he allied himself with a flag-less faction under the codename of D-SOLDIERS, persons capable of traveling through dimensions to seek balance... after a series months Sesilou managed to stop the war and uncover the truth of an incoming raid to obliterate life over that dimension, (this happened on project adiol btw...) after obtaining the satellite's main code back online Sesilou managed to teleport and dismantle the enemy's main weapon saving the un-named universe from it's impending doom...

Seeing how his job was done Sesilou asked D-SOLDIERS to allow him to return to his own world, so after a long goodbye to his friends Sesilou once again uses the Satellite to teleport into the unknown....

Where his collab story begins:

As Sesilou steps away from the landing zone he scans for any recognizable landmarks, but to no avail finds himself marooned once again into the unknown.... he sees a shadow over the distance who could it be?

BATTLE SYSTEM: Modded Front-View Battle System

COMMON TRAITS: Good ATK/DEF/INT Low SPD/EVA/MDEF

Can use basic first aid and moderate offensive spells, Good at soloing against lower-tiered enemies,

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Engineering: Can use "Tools" outside of battle to interact with machines

Pin Summoning: At low HP Sesilou can sacrifice summon pins to call forth NPC's he's befriended for around 3-4 turns

and that's about it.

CHARACTER NAME: Jack (27 years old)

BG-STORY: Jack was a simple man, with a good heart. But tragedy struck him like an ax to he heart, and drove him to "kill himself". After people thought he was dead, he finally went out into the world, convinced that everything must suffer, that everything must die. He becomes the villain, and disapears for a final time, after being beaten by the world.

NOW: He's back, a very tragic hero. He questions the point of everything, and is a real bitter, but depressing hero. Will ascend to his former self? Or descend back to his anti-hero state?

BATTLE SYSTEM: Classical Final Fantasy Row Styled

COMMON TRAITS: Physically fit (+Strength, +Defense, +Speed) but stressed out of his mind (-Intel, -Mana)

Geared for solo survival, but very poor with magic.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Rush - Sorta like Limit Breaking. Eats up a lot of MP. And I mean A LOT.

Two more to come, but I have yet to figure it out.

Character Name: Zypher (19 years old)

Background Story: Going under an alias his people commonly refer to him as, the Renegade, Zypher travels the world in "search of treasures", but mostly importantly to him, women. He's been doing so since he was 12 he claims. His ego often clouds his judgement, and he is often getting into trouble because of it. Everybody hates him, and everybody likes him. Just depends on whether you've been pickpocketed by him or not. Being a man of wit, he often has to rely on his keen sense of self-preservation to keep alive, and is very persuasive in getting what he wants.

Current Story: After wearily traversing across a continent to avoid the guard, he ends up in an entirely new continent he is not familiar with. He travels into the closest town casually, as the people of this town have no idea of the crimes he has committed. Traveling into a tavern, he sees a bunch of commoners as usual. Zypher orders a pint of course, keeping in mind that being broke, he'll have to sneak out of the bar undetected by the barkeeper. But as he finishes his ale, he spots an odd fellow with a very valuable and alien looking item on himself. Time for a bit of pickpocketing?

Battle System: Tanketai's SBS for RMVX. (Sideview battle system.)

Common Traits: He is certainly stronger than the commoner, but no match for the might of a guard. Zypher is very intelligent and nimble, and can easily outmaneuver his stronger opponents. He is usually three steps ahead of his enemy, and his marksmanship is to be noted...if he can afford a bow and some arrows. Always being on the run, he has also picked up a few tricks here and there, and can cast diversionary magic and restorative if necessary. His favorite item is the flashing-smoke bomb, (which can be created using the crafting skill within the game) which allows for a very easy escape.

On a scale of 1 to 10

Strength - 6
Defense - 4
Intelligence - 8
Speed - 7
Evasion - 8
Magic Defense - 6

Special Skills

Can pick locks to get into places that no-one could easily get into without the use of explosives.
Light healing spells: Such as LIGHT HEAL, and ANTIDOTE. Not much besides that.
De-Buff spell: DOWNING. Causes a moderate cut-down on one enemy's speed and defense for 2 turns.
Offensive spell: FIREBOLT. Causes light fire damage. Zypher only prefers to use this spell for igniting purposes only though. He does not intend on using this spell for battle, but there will be situations in some fights where igniting something causes a strong reaction.

Because Zypher only practices magic in a pinch, he can only use spells sparingly. I can include some common fighting skills that don't require magic, but cause drawbacks, such as lowered defense or speed, but I will have to look up RMVX, which I would use to create this game. I already have so much set-up on RMVX. And with the graphics-changing script, I can use as many tilesets as I want.
